Azalea Seratoni is an art historian and curator. Her research belongs to the disciplinary field on the border of arts and design. After her thesis in history of art from from Università degli Studi, Milan, Departments of Arts and Philosophy on the relationship of Bruno Munari with Japan, she continued her research on the artist and designer through lectures and by participating to the courses of Basic design at the faculty of Arts and design of University Iuav of Venice, upon invitation of Giovanni Anceschi. As part of Basic Design / The tradition of the new, organized by doctorate in Design sciences at Iuav in Venice, she curated the exhibition Bruno Munari: basic designer, with the collaboration of Bruno Danese (2006). She experienced the full range of activities – including services – of the functioning of a cultural center in the field of modern and contemporary art (Fondazione Antonio Mazzotta and Edizioni Gabriele Mazzotta). She curated the new edition of the multiplied art by Gruppo T for Alessi, fifty years after the first edition for Danese (1960–2010). She worked as editor and press office for et al./edizioni (among the editorial projects, the new edition of the works by Carla Lonzi). She has participated as an author to the film on Marisa Merz, Around Marisa. The works, friends, words of Marisa Merz, which was presented to the 55th International Art Exhibition: The Encyclopedic Palace curated by Massimiliano Gioni under the program Meetings on Art (2012). Her intellectual activity spans from writing to the collaboration with universities: her texts have appeared on “il verri” and “Progetto grafico”, and she has lectured at IUAV Venice, ISIA Urbino, and SUPSI Lugano.
