The event “Campo Urbano. Interventi estetici nella dimensione collettiva urbana” (The Urban Field. Aesthetic Interventions in the Public Urban Sphere), was organised in Como on September 21, 1969, and curated by Luciano Caramel, Ugo Mulas and Bruno Munari. In October 1969, a month after her participation, Grazia Varisco designed an environment bearing the same title, “Dilatazione spazio-temporale di un percorso”, for the gallery of Arturo Schwarz in Milan.
In a dark room of the gallery, slanted walls, ca. 2 meters high, are articulated in a sequence. In the middle of the space a mobile beamer projects a circular spot of light on the walls, reaching them at different distances. The viewer is invited to an ever changing perception of space.
